Stephan Cretier
President & CEO
After an initial career as a professional baseball umpire in the U.S. for several years, Stephan Cretier came back to Canada in 1989 and joined a security firm where he increased sales from $4.8 million to $32 million in just 5 years. In 1995, he had a clear vision of how to develop a successful business in that sector, and he decided to found his own company with an initial investment of only $20,000.
Stephan Cretier, an entrepreneur and visionary, propelled Garda among the top 15 international players in the security field and to the 3rd position worldwide in investigations 12 years after first establishing the company. Garda now protects North America's largest companies including Fortune 500, the Canadian and American governments as well as military bases. Because of his determination, his leadership and his business sense, Mr. Cretier implemented a spectacular growth strategy reaching $800 million in annual sales. On the stock market, shares worth $0.24 in 1999 have increased today to more than $20 with a market capitalisation of over $625 million.
Stephan Cretier brought the company to new heights and its phenomenal growth earned him a place in the Profit 100 ranking for the past 6 years. He also received the title of Public corporation of 2006 granted by Quebec's Journal Les Affaires, the most extensive business publication in the province and awarded the title of Great Entrepreneur of 2005 by Perform. Chris W. Jamroz
President and Chief Operating Officer, Garda Cash Logistics
Christopher W. Jamroz is President and Chief Operating Officer of Garda Cash Logistics. In his role he is responsible for strategic leadership and all Garda Cash Logistics operations focusing on new business development, forming close strategic partnerships with clients, best-in-class service quality, product development and technological innovation as well as effective cross-selling of Garda’s broader value-added service offering.
Previously, Mr. Jamroz, senior client executive at J.P.Morgan Chase & Co., was one of the most trusted and respected advisors to executive management teams and boards of directors of leading corporations. He served as an advisor to public and private companies across a broad spectrum of industries including consumer products, retail, apparel, media, software, technology, transportation and logistics, restaurant and lodging, gaming, financial services, building products, paper and packaging, manufacturing and diversified industrial.
A strategic leader with a global perspective and widely recognized industry leading business development and tactical effectiveness track record, Mr. Jamroz provided advice and counsel with respect to the entire range of investment and corporate banking services including shareholder value maximization strategies, leveraged financings, debt and equity capital markets, credit risk management, currency and rates risk hedging and derivative instruments, as well as treasury and cash management.
Earlier in his career, he held a variety of senior management positions in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom involved with international mergers and acquisitions, evaluating and executing retail banking and brokerage expansion strategies.
Born in Poland, Mr. Jamroz grew up in the United Kingdom. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Studies with First Class Honors from the University of Central England, and an MBA with Distinction from the Schulich School of Business at York University. He has been involved in various advisory councils and charitable organizations, most notably as Co-Founder and Chairman of the United Foundation for the Education of Children, active supporter of Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City as well as Chair of Junior Achievement programs. Mr. Jamroz is a tenured mentor to MBA and graduate business programs students at Schulich School of Business, and serves as a member of the Royal Ontario Museum Board of Trustees. Mr. Jamroz will be based in our corporate headquarters in Pasadena, California.
Richard Drutman
Vice Chairman
Richard "Dick" Drutman is Vice Chairman of Garda’s cash logistics organization in the United States. He has been instrumental in the integration of Garda’s U.S. cash logistics operations and re-branding under the Garda name.
Mr. Drutman joined AT Systems, Inc. a subsidiary of ATI Systems International in June 2001 as Executive Vice President with responsibility for all sales and marketing functions.
Prior to joining AT Systems, Inc. and since 1976, he was former President & CEO and Executive Vice President of Arcus Data Security, an Iron Mountain company that provides offsite data protection throughout the U.S. and Europe.
During his business career Mr. Drutman spent 27 years as a volunteer Reserve Police Officer with the City of Monterey Park in Los Angeles County, rising to the rank of Deputy Chief. He was one of the senior officers responsible for security for the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles.
Mr. Drutman holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from California State University at LA. He is a 25-year member of the American Association for Industrial Security, a lifetime member of the California Police Officer’s Association and a recognized speaker nationally on data security, workplace violence and the cash logistics industry.
Thomas P. Gross
Senior Vice President, Operations, Southeast Region
Mr. Gross is Senior Vice President of Operations for the Southeast region and is responsible for leveraging his operational expertise and familiarity with local markets to reinforce positive operations momentum in the region through comprehensive and cohesive sales campaigns to drive growth in new and existing accounts throughout the southeast.
He joined AT Systems in 2002 as a Regional Vice President of Operations and helped open and develop 21 new markets in 24 months in the Midwest and Eastern United States. He was promoted to Regional Vice President of Sales in 2004 and then to Senior Vice President, Southeast Region.
Mr. Gross began his Cash Logistics career in 1988 in Pittsburgh shortly after graduating from West Virginia University, and has held sales and management positions covering 22 states.
Michael Mcspadden, CTP
Senior Vice President, Product Management & CashLINK
Michael McSpadden leads retail and bank product solutions for Garda’s Cash Logistics Group. He is responsible for product development and optimization to bring technical innovation and Garda’s “Smart Technology” solutions to market. In addition he is focused on expanding Garda’s CashLINK business unit and the continued development of new markets.
With 20 years of senior level management responsibilities within the banking, cash logistics, telecom and e-commerce industries, Mr. McSpadden’s experience yields a flexible and comprehensive approach when customizing solutions for clients.
Mr. McSpadden holds a Bachelors Degree in Finance/Marketing from the University of Texas at Arlington and is a certified treasury professional (CTP), with experience in advising companies throughout the United States on how to shape both sales approaches and operational procedures that aid retailers and banks with their cash management practices.
Kurt Eimer
Senior Vice President and Regional Head of the Western and Midwest Regions
Mr. Eimer is Senior Vice President of Garda Cash Logistics Western and Midwest regions as well as Colorado and Utah and is responsible for supervising the activities of uniformed armed guards, clerical, professional, and executive personnel engaged in sales and the daily transportation and verification of client funds.
Mr. Eimer began his career with AT Systems in 1976 as an armored car driver and was promoted to supervisor in 1982. He became Orange Country Branch Manager in 1988, Los Angeles District Manager in 1991 and was promoted to Senior Vice President in 2002.
During his tenure, Mr. Eimer was instrumental in the acquisition and successful integration of cash logistics companies for AT Systems. He was also a key participant in the design and processes of the company’s current package tracking system.
He has received numerous awards, including one from the Bank of America, and more than 30 certificates of appreciation from various law enforcement agencies, many for assisting in investigations.
Jamie Rutherford
Senior Vice President, Sales, Midwest Region
Mr. Rutherford is Senior Vice President, Sales, for Garda Cash Logistics Midwest region and is responsible for comprehensive and cohesive sales campaigns to drive growth in new and existing accounts.
He joined AT Systems in 2000 and has served as Vice President of Sales for the Northeast region and National Accounts Sale, representing 50% of the company’s total revenues. During that time, the Northeast sales group led the company in sales related to two new product launches. Mr. Rutherford also developed the Richmond Virginia market for AT Systems, increasing revenues by 850% in the first year, and created a mentoring program for new account representatives.
Prior to joining AT Systems, Mr. Rutherford held several executive positions with Suntrust Bank where he initiated and managed several highly successful on-screen ATM advertising programs. He also partnered with Diebold in the development of the “Remote Link” electronic delivery mechanism.
Mr. Rutherford began his career at Deluxe Corporation, where he coordinated 45 mergers and acquisitions, primarily with Crestar Financial Corporation and First Virginia Banks, Inc.
He is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University.
Vincent J. Modarelli
Senior Vice President, Northeast Region
Mr. Modarelli is Senior Vice President of Garda Cash Logistics Northeast region and is responsible for supervising uniformed armed guards, clerical, professional, and executive personnel engaged in sales and the daily transportation and verification of client funds.
Prior to assuming his present position, Mr. Modarelli was the President and Chief Executive Officer of CDC Systems, Inc., a $75 million armored car and securities firm and was responsible for supervising the daily transportation and verification of approximately $500 million of client funds including management of the coin inventories of the Federal Reserve Banks of New York and Philadelphia. Mr. Modarelli continually improved operating margin by focusing on operational synergies, retained an impressive 60% client base in the New York metropolitan area, developed new business lines and formed strategic alliances that improved profitability and customer service. He initiated new training programs designed to improve efficiency and reduce risk which resulted in a 55% insurance premium reduction during his tenure. His positive efforts culminated in the successful acquisition of CDC Systems, Inc. by AT Systems, Inc. in November 2006.
Mr. Modarelli was a member of the New Jersey State Police for 29 years and retired at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He achieved one of the most diversified careers in the State Police by serving in virtually every area of Division operations, including Deputy Superintendent. He supervised the response of New Jersey State Police investigators to the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks and was responsible for a Domestic Terrorism Task Force created to address potential terrorist threats in the State of New Jersey. In December 2001 Mr. Modarelli was presented with a State Senate Proclamation for professional service rendered during the World Trade Center attack. He was also responsible for restructuring and supervising the department’s narcotics and organized crime bureaus and the state’s forensic crime laboratory system.
Mr. Modarelli is currently an adjunct professor with Fairleigh Dickinson University, has lectured at conferences, and collaborated on New Jersey’s Domestic Preparedness Program, Infrastructure Targeting Identification Program, Safe Schools and Communities Initiative, and High-Technology Crime Initiative.
He is a past President of the Independent Armored Car Operators Association (IACOA), a member of the New Jersey Homeland Security Policy Board, a past President of the New Jersey Narcotic Enforcement Officers Association (NJNEOA), and the former Treasurer of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), State & Provincial. He was presented with the Italian-American Police Society of New Jersey Man of the Year award in 1996 and has also been presented with numerous State Senate and Assembly Proclamations for professional and civic accomplishments.
Mr. Modarelli received his BA in Management from Eastern University, and a Master of Administrative Science Degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He also attended the Executive Management Program at Northwestern University, became a New Jersey Certified Public Manager through Fairleigh Dickinson University, and completed the Police Executive Research Forum’s Senior Management Institute for Police at Boston University.
Rick Miller
Senior Vice President, Southeast Region
Mr. Miller is Senior Vice President, of Garda Cash Logistics Southeast region and is responsible for supervising the activities of uniformed armed guards, clerical, professional, and executive personnel engaged in sales and the daily transportation and verification of client funds.
Mr. Miller joins Garda following a 27-year career with Loomis, where he held a variety of senior positions including Vice President Transportation operations in US and Europe and most recently, as President, South-eastern US.
Barbara Danzi
Chief Information Security Officer, Garda Cash Logistics
Barbara Danzi is Chief Information Security Officer for Garda Cash Logistics. In her position, she has complete operational responsibility for the company's information security program and the procedures for all information technology processes and systems. She also oversees audit and test functions for all Garda Cash Logistics systems and assists in integrating every component of the company's business continuity plans.
Most recently, Ms. Danzi was senior manager at Archer Technologies, a provider of enterprise governance, risk and compliance (GRC) management and automated business process solutions. In that role, she worked with some of the world's largest companies in risk advisory and GRC implementation, building automated programs for IT, fraud, financial and operational risk assessment and compliance.
Previously, Ms. Danzi was a consultant and risk & compliance architect for DirectTV and had similar responsibilities in information risk management at UnitedHealth Group and information security at Wachovia Dealer Services (formerly WFS Financial).
Ms. Danzi has an Executive MBA from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California and a BS in engineering from Cornell University. She holds numerous professional certifications including CISSP, CISM and CIPP, and is a frequent guest speaker at GRC industry conferences.
Patrice Boily
COO - Cash Logistics, Canada
Patrice Boily has 21 years of experience in operations management, specializing in business process reengineering. Mr. Boily worked as an independent advisor for several high-tech firms that were going through significant changes ranging from rapid growth to mergers, acquisitions, major moves or even shutdowns. Recognized for his qualities as an efficient leader and creative executive, he has greatly contributed to Garda's growth since June 2003, starting with the integration of Secur within Garda.
As the COO of the Canadian cash logistics operation, he leads the team and oversees the expansion of the new greenfield business in Ontario. He also assists with the implementation of CashTRAK in the US.
Before joining Garda, Mr. Boily was Vice President of Operations at Touchtunes Music where he completed a reengineering mandate resulting in a 35% decrease in operating costs for the company. Prior to that, he led operations at Dentalmatic and Discreet Logic where he had to integrate operations centers in Boston, Chicago, Lyon in France, and Newbury in Great Britain.
Mr. Boily is an industrial engineer and is a graduate of the École Polytechnique de l'Université de Montréal.
